IVF/ICSI Treatment

IVF / ICSI

In Vitro Fertilization

In vitro fertilization (IVF) and Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) are the two most popular ARTs for a successful fertilization. They are identical procedures apart from the way the egg is fertilized. IVF treatment allows the sperm to penetrate the egg on its own whereas in ICSI treatment selected sperm is directly injected into the egg.

What is IVF/ICSI Treatment?

IVF, or in vitro fertilization, is a fertility treatment that involves fertilizing an egg with sperm outside the body, in a laboratory dish. This is done by combining eggs and sperm in a special dish, where fertilization can take place. Once fertilization occurs, the resulting embryo is transferred back into the uterus for implantation.

ICSI, or intracytoplasmic sperm injection, is a type of IVF that involves injecting a single sperm directly into the egg, rather than allowing the sperm to naturally fertilize the egg.

IVF/ICSI can help couples struggling with infertility due to various reasons such as blocked fallopian tubes, low sperm count or motility, ovulation disorders, endometriosis, or unexplained infertility. These treatments have helped many couples achieve their dream of having a child and are a viable option for those struggling with infertility.
